Saturday, September 20th - POINT PARK

11:45p  Welcome with Troy Centofanto, Director of Artistic Recruitment. He will meet families in the "Urban Park at the Academic Village" (near the water feature) on the corner of Wood St. and Blvd of the Allies.  The campus map is here: https://www.pointpark.edu/About/Directions/index

12-2p  Acting through Song Master Class with Zeva Barzell, Point Park Director of Musical Theatre

Bring 32-bar cuts of TWO of your musical theatre college audition songs and Zeva will choose one to work on. Bring sheet music for your cuts - a live accompanist will be provided. Bring a headshot and résumé and dress in nice casual, comfortable clothes.

2:45-3:30  Campus/department tour

Sunday, September 21st 

9-11a  Monologue Master Class with Andrew Smith

Bring 2 college audition monologues of your choice. Andrew will choose one to work on, and will give adjustments and direction. Bring a headshot and resume, and dress comfortably.

11-11:30  Program Overview / Q&A with Andrew

1-2p  Carnegie Mellon Campus Tour led by the Department of Recruitment and Enrollment

2-2:30p  Q+A With Current Students 


Zeva Barzell, who is beloved by her students, was ranked twice as Outstanding Teacher state-wide, listed in Who's Who Among American Teachers, and named Outstanding Teacher by the senior class at Point Park two years in a row. She has trained under some of the most influential directors from all over the globe, and worked extensively as a professional performer.

Andrew Smith is a Carnegie Mellon acting professor. Before joining the prestigious faculty in 2014, he taught and received his Masters in Acting at the University of California, San Diego where he was honored with the Teaching Excellence Award. Carnegie Mellon is the oldest BFA in Drama in the nation, and this class gives students the chance to work with and learn from one of the department's great acting teachers. You will come away enlightened and enriched.
