10a - 11:00a Info Session and Q+A w/ Kevin Covert and Matt Edwards

11a-12:30p Dance Master Class w/ Shylo Martinez

Students should wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement and jazz shoes or sneakers, and bring a headshot and resume.

12:30p - 2p Lunch Break w/ current students

2p - 4p Song Audition Master Class w/ Kevin Covert, Head of MT and Coordinator of Recruitment

Students can bring 32-bar cuts of TWO musical theatre college audition songs with sheet music (an accompanist will be provided), and Kevin will pick which to work on to focus on song performance. Students should bring a headshot and resume and wear comfortable clothing. 

**Additionally, during the masterclass there will be 10 min individual breakout sessions with Matt Edwards (Associate Professor of Voice and Musical Theatre) for private voice lessons.**

In the evening, the department will be running a production of Legally Blonde. The show will be at 7:30p on Saturday. Families are encouraged to attend! Tickets can be purchased here. Note: this is an optional event and not included in your participation fee. 

Kevin Covert is an Associate Professor of Theatre, Director of Musical Theatre and Co-Chair of the Theatre Division at Shenandoah University, where the Musical Theater program is regarded as one of the Top 10 programs in the US. His students appear regularly on Broadway, National Tours, and in TV/Film. In addition to being a Broadway actor/singer/dancer, Kevin serves as one of Tony Award Winner Christopher Gattelli’s Associates working with him on the Broadway revival of “South Pacific” at the Lincoln Center as well as on “Emmet Otter”.

Matt Edwards is one of the leading voice teachers for commercial and musical theatre styles in the United States. He is currently an associate professor of voice and coordinator of musical theatre voice at Shenandoah Conservatory. He also serves as artistic director of the Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute, was awarded the Van Lawrence Fellowship, has served as a National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Intern Program master teacher and is a guest editor for the Journal of Voice.
