ACTING YOUR SONGS AND MONOLOGUES
DOUBLE MASTER CLASS
Sunday, October 16th, 2016
9AM-12PM Acting Your Songs Master Class, with Mark Madama, Associate Professor Of Musical Theatre, University Of Michigan.
Madama is adored by all of his students, and you’ll see why. His philosophy: singing a song well isn’t enough. To be great, you have to tell the story through your acting of the song. And that’s where Mark is the master. He has the ability to get right to the heart of the story of your song and help you discover it through the truth of our own life experience. It’s pretty powerful stuff. Mark will work with each student individually to build a scenario for acting the song. Get ready to take your singing to the next level!
Bring headshot and resume, pen and paper to take notes, 2 college audition songs (32 bar cuts) from Broadway musicals. Bring recorded tracks and a player. No live accompaniment provided. Dress comfortably.
12PM-1PM Mark and Hank will conduct an informal Q&A about their programs at the U Michigan and U of Arizona. You may bring a snack.
Parents are invited to observe the class.
1PM-4PM Acting Your Monologues Master Class with Hank Stratton, Head of Acting Univerity Of Arizona
